Decided to repeat W4 until I solve the problem with numb left foot. R1 of the second re-incarnation of W4 went pretty well - I felt approximately the same as during W4R2 for the first time.
To diagnose whether it's my trainers cause foot numbness, I tried running in my regular boots. Those are definitely not that tight as the trainers. The numbness didn't go away, so I conclude it's not trainers tightness, rather it's flat platform. So, will try buying trainers with air/gel cushion.
Quite disappointing to go in circles, but I'm afraid running with numb foot.

Your running shoes should be a size bigger than your regular shoe size to allow for your feet to expand when HOT! Make sure you get a gait analysis at a sports shop and see what your running form is like. Numb ANYTHING is not a good thing.
Is it only when you run? Numbness is usually a nerve issue so it could be compression of nerves in your foot, ankle or even your back. As Dan says it would be worth getting a gait analysis done when you buy your next trainers but it might also be worth getting it checked out by your doctor to make sure you don't have any other issues.
Yes, numbness appears only when I run, during second 5-minute run. It also appeared a few years ago when I cycled in a fitness club before strength workouts. I resolved the situation at that point by replacing cycling with an elliptical strider.
Thanks for the advices, I'll think on visiting a physician.
If it's nerve compression in the foot then you will just need the right sort of running shoes I'm guessing. Same for cycling too. Hope it's easily remedied whatever the cause
