Can anyone help? W4 r2 numb toes in left foot

Hi,

I Wonder if anyone can help? I have just completed w4 r2 and noticed on the final five minute run that my three middle toes of my left foot were numb when running. I have recently bought new trainers to help with my falling foot arches.

I don’t know whether it is the way I’m running, or trainers or whether this will improve in time?

If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening and how I could help it, I would be really grateful.

I am enjoying the programme and desperately want to make it to my first 5k.

I had this before, I decided I had tied my laces too tight. I know this might not be the answer, but give it a go.

Are you running outside or on a treadmill? Reason i ask is, if i run inside, for some odd reason, i tend to run on my toes, and literally within minutes i have numb toes. Im absolutely fine outside though and very conscious of how my feet land. Could you be doing the same?

i run outside, i read up on it and it said it could be a trapped nerve or tight trainers.

Thank you for answering my question. I am running outside, although it is on heath land and I wonder if, because of the tree roots on my route I could also be landing too heavily on my left foot whilst cautiously watching where I place my feet. Thank you for your advise. I will also try and loosen my laces next time too.

Numbness is symptomatic of restricted blood flow. Try tying your laces differently. runrepeat.com/top-10-runnin...
