If you must wear mascara during a physio appointment, make sure it's waterproof!! Lovely James 'massaged' my foot and ankle today to try free up my tendons and get rid of some more of the swelling. I cried! All I can say is it was nice when it stopped!! Foot much happier now though, can even walk without crutches.
Today I learned something important: If you must... - Couch to 5K
Today I learned something important
I agree with that sound advice. I have also cried at a physio appointment but it is so worth it for the relief that they bring with those healing hands. Glad your foot is feeling a bit better. Happy healing.
Don't talk to me about physio torture! I can only say I'm pleased that your foot is feeling better and good for you putting up with the agonising treatment!
Ouch! No pain, no gain AM. Hope you get rid of that awful swelling soon and can fit your running shoes back on
Ouchy AM - glad James is helping it to improve. Hopefully it won't be long now.
Oh no! That doesn't sound much fun. Hope your recovery is speedy x
Oh EM xxxx It is pure torture isn't it ? Poor you, big hug ((( )))
Glad it feels a lot better now , one day at a time xxxx
Heehee Pops you're not kidding. Torture just about sums it up, but we runners are made a tough stuff, well tough-ish stuff.
I did ask him if he had any idea when I'd be able to run again but he just laughed! Should be walking fairly normally In about 2weeks but apparently, I have to have enough movement in my ankle and toes to literally hop, skip and jump before I can run again, otherwise I'll just knacker my knee again. Had a feeling he might say something like that
So thank you for you the hug, Sweetie, it's much appreciated. You're so right, one day at a time. My next big challenge is to go up and down stairs on my feet rather than my bottom. Don't hold your breath.
Hope you're still going great guns with your recovery xxx
Ouch that sounds painful AM! No wonder you cried. And yes I know what you mean about the mascara. a bit embarrasing sometimes especially if you discover your panda eyes on the way home stuck in a traffic jam!
Great news that you're off the crutches now and the foot feels a bit better. This will all be like a bad dream sometime soon. xxx
Do you reckon on School Career's Day there are conversations that go along the lines of "well I've seen that you like to inflict pain on people ... unfortunately recommending that you go into professional sadism isn't an option ... have you thought about physiotherapy instead?!"
Glad to hear you're making progress
Oh Kat you haven't lived until you've been reduced to a snivelling wreck by a handsome young man, as he chats away about his plans for the afternoon.
A friend of ours, who used to play rugby, said it hurts like Hell but eventually you start looking forward to the pain because you know how much good it's doing you. I am NOT, repeat NOT, at that stage (yet).
Have a great Easter xxx
That nice young man needs a hair cut and a vest xxx
Chin up AM. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that.
Not sure how much use the mascara tip is to me but thanks anyway!
I'm new around here - how exactly did your ankle end up in this state? Don't tell me that you did it running, I'm still on the newbie cloud. There's another solution for the mascara - don't wear any at all. Good luck with the stairs - hope you don't have carpet burn. Ouch.
