Hi.
I've tried to get going with this for so long. But I suppose it was never meant to be, so i'm going to give up now. Godd luck to the rest of you.
Hi.
I've tried to get going with this for so long. But I suppose it was never meant to be, so i'm going to give up now. Godd luck to the rest of you.
How far did you get on the programme? Is it getting the time to do it or lack of motivation? We can all help here on the forum, please don't give up. Tell us your issues and we will help you find a solution. I have stopped and started also, in fact everyone here has at some point so we have got great advice.
Both. And i suppose being far from home (I'm not british) and having a physical job aslso plays its part...
Maybe the timing is not quite right but you must give it every chance before stopping. If you have a physical job you might find it being fitter really helps your job. Just try a walk instead and find the time to do that and when you have that in your weekly routine at least twice then start the programme again. You will love it on every level, fitter, healthier, happier and full of confidence. Good luck.
Sorry to hear that, I stopped last year and started again and it really is worth it. I have not felt this good for a long time. Maybe try again at another date. Good luck and keep smiling.😁
What a shame you feel you have to stop. Try not to look at this being the end and that you are taking time out for you. Sounds like you miss home too and that is completely fine. Keep thinking about it, reading our struggles- as we all have them and hopefully something will click and inspire you to go outside and take those baby steps again. No stress, no goals just enjoying some fresh air and and a different physical activity other than work. I wish you all the best we have a saying here, If at first you do not succeed then try, try again. All in your own time x
I'm with the others on this - please keep reading, posting and considering. It's not easy to find the time and the energy but I think sometimes it's the fight to achieve that wears us down. I graduated last Saturday and every run since then had been a trial, and an effort, I'd lost the enjoyment of it, so tonight's run was just for me - my pace, no push, just enjoyment - would letting go of the pressure to graduate in 9 weeks make it easier? Determine to take it at your pace! Lots of people rerun weeks whilst they build their fitness. What do you think? Best of luck either way and I hope to see you posting soon
Sometimes everything has to in the right place at the right time to feel right. Give yourself a little break and try and remember why you wanted to start. The program is so flexible it can fit in round most things and even if you only try one run a week it will still work just take a little longer. The main thing is making it feel like it works for you than the other way round. Running can be good source of coping with things like homesickness even as you are learning. We will always be here for you if you feel ready to try again.
Don't give up. Just take it slowly. Not all of us are built for racing, but running can do even 60+ tortoises like me the world of good. Try telling us why you feel you need to stop. There's an awful lot of help and experience on this forum just waiting to be tapped. Go on - you started........so........
That's really sad VaneFreja,
I found it helped me to complete a weekly update on the forum. It gave me something to aim for and help and advice if I was struggling. Why not give it another few weeks? But make sure you let us know how you are getting on.
Good luck
I'm sorry to hear this. Sometimes giving yourself an extended break is necessary, and if that's what you need now... just please try to think of it in those terms. Don't think of it as quitting or giving up, but as taking a break.
And once things settle down a little and you feel motivated again, please stop your break and give it another go. You'll feel wonderful for it
