I absolutely LOVE it!!! My friends have been less enuthsiatic.. "what the hell is that", "not exactly michael kors" and "um.. are you wearing it out tonight.." were among their reactions. They were much more appreciative of it when i told them its not actually a watch LOL and that its for my running. Roll on tomorrow morning!!!!

could start a thread here :) Mine is Maggie (, because it's grey with a pink stripe so it has to be a "she" - and in honour of the very first GPS navigator I used what now seems aeons ago, which was a Magellan)

Mine is named "Titchy". It is an ironic name given that it is a four year old model and is enormous by compared to the current models.

Good choice of graduation present. You'll end up as a running geek like the rest of us pouring over your stats when you get back home.

Enjoy it - and name it too. Mine now goes by the name of "Watergate" after an **expletive deleted** moment when it crashed 9K into my 12K Jantasic run. I had to repeat the run the following day to claim the mileage.

Hi operation2015, could you tell me about the Garmin? I am completely green and don't really know what it is for and what it does, although people on this forum talk about it.

Oh god i will tell you what i know but i am new to it all aswell! For someone age 24 i dont really "do" technology lool! Its a device usually worn as a watch which uses GPS signal to track how far you have ran, your route, pace etc and connects to your computer to store and analyse this data.

Wow, thank you for the answer. It was what I needed to know. As a 68 years old , I am not too knowledgeable in this sort of thing but very interested. I will put it down on my list of rewards for when I reach my goal.
