I have just completed week three and am pretty nervous about week four. I struggled with the last three minutes of week 3 day 3 today but I think that may be down to having a bit of a cold. I am amazed that I have a managed to get to week four as I am very unfit. I can't imagine running 5k!
Just completed week 3 : I have just completed... - Couch to 5K
Just completed week 3
Well done you. Running does make you realise just how much a cold can affect you and your performance, but you did it, so fear not and get ready for week Four. Most of us were very unfit when we started and never have a moments regret about sticking with C25k. If you want to run 5k, then you will. Good luck.
It seems ok to run with a cold provided it hasn't settled onto your chest, but it does sap energy - and probably will do for a few days afterwards. I hope you are fit and able to start week 4, the incremental increase in content really works. Don't worry about 5k yet, your aim is to follow the programme and get to being able to run for 30minutes. I graduated last week and have some way to go before I can run 5k, and I am not expecting (at 58) to get to the point where I can run 5k in 30 mins. 10k an hour is an unsustainable sprint for me!
i too was very unfit but since doing c25km and continuing to run each week my fitness has improved 100%. We all have runs we find tricky even after graduation for various reasons but what I love is no run is the same. Have some recovery time and give week go and don't forget slow and steady. Let us know how you get on
I've you will be saying the same thing each week, keep pushing yourself and keep going. Good luck
