I'm creeping back in here after such a long absence. I HAVEN'T RUN FOR 10 MONTHS. I'm at the strange place of knowing I've done this before but not at all sure I can do it again. Sadly I've regained all the weight I lost and am very unfit so I need to get out walking before I can even think about running! Today's the day...and if you have tips on how to get going all over again and then sticking with it, I'm all ears😃
Re-start...what worked for you?: I'm creeping... - Couch to 5K
Re-start...what worked for you?
I did exactly this! 10 Months break from being a regular 5-8k runner (4 times a week) and then one day just stopped. 10 months and 2 stone later, I started again...I started straight out on the Couch to 5K - totally do-able from the 10 month break and I'm just about to go out for my first run of week 7 (had to 6 days break due to illness) and I'm a bit nervous today because I'm still a bit full of a cold, but I don't want to leave it any longer...the bug (the running kind, not the other..) and the fitness are coming back. Start the Couch to 5K today, it'll be OK, I promise!!
Frankie clearly speaks from experience, so I'd say do as he suggests: Know that you *can* do it, and decide that you *will* do it, and then simply go do it
you can do it...it will come back to you...start from the beginning and be doggedly determined about completing....come on! You can do it...then tell us all how you get on and we will support you
