Boom! What a start to W9...

Well that happened... In an attempt to keep up with him indoors, I realised as I reached the 30 minute mark that the 5K was within my grasp. As all of you know on here, each run is an experiment some days go well and some don't. Realising that I'd kick myself I don't get to 5K at graduation and didn't take the opportunity when I was so close, I took it!

Was it easy, no. Was it worth it, hell yeah! Afterwards I undertook the longest and most comprehensive warm down ever. Foam roller and gym ball deployed. (Hope I'm still this optimistic tomorrow).

Now I've reached 5K the pressure is off, whatever happens, happens. Graduation day, I'm coming to get you!!!!

Well done Sutsha, and that’s some pace too, only a whisker outside the 30 minutes! Sounds like a great run :)

in reply toHoagyM

Some days just go well. Couldn't have asked for better. Now I can chill down and just enjoy the final runs of the programme.

Wow, that’s amazing! Very jealous of your cheetah speed!

in reply tothegirlfrommarz

Extra few days rest makes all the difference, as well as a kick in the behind from Mr Sutsha! 😆

Well done Xx

Thanks Rachey. How's your journey going?

in reply to

mines good got w6 r3 tomo had to have a few days break through having a stomach bug but cant wait to get out and run tomorrow X

in reply to

Aw, hope you're feeling better. After having a break and a bug maybe slow things right down and head in with determination to complete no matter how long it takes. Good luck!

Thanks sutsha X

Well get you super speedy!! Well done, very happy for you 👍👍👍😀

in reply toSaartjie

Cheers. Thought twice about putting the pic up as it's not about distance. That is until W9 when you get so close and it's within reach. Think I'll slow it down now and make sure I can sustain for a bit. Just love this programme!

Thanks Susie. If I could speak to my former self from 8 weeks ago and tell her this, she would've believe me!

That is a great start to week 9, superb! Graduate badge is waiting for you at the end of the week! Keep it up

in reply toDarude

That's the plan. Big week!

Darude profile image
DarudeGraduate in reply to

It's been 2 weeks since I gradated, and I can only wish I can run as fast as you! :-D I'm very excited for you, I loved my final week!

in reply toDarude

It really was a fluke. One of those everything went well and I'd had extra rest and was very motivated. Not often you get all 3 on the same day 😄 I will be slowing things down again as I don't want to risk injury. There's a reason for slow and steady. I'm in it for the long haul!

Whoohoo, well done you!! Glad to hear you are feeling better and what a result!!

in reply toRua8

Thanks Rua! Just needed the extra rest. Also increased my warm-up and added some backward running which is brilliant for recovery. Doesn't need to be a lot and you do need to be very careful. Kept mine in the garden where I know where everything is. 😁

Great work, well done, can we swap legs please, just saying to Rua8 I am no where near 5K yet

😂 I’d swap legs with her and all, Speedy Gonzalez or what!

Jullaly profile image
JullalyGraduate in reply toRua8

i'll have anyones legs ..mine are too short, is that a good enough excuse

in reply toJullaly

You've got hills, that's THE best excuse. Factors, dear, factors. When you take account of the factors the playing field becomes rather even (Just like my route, lol). I only have a couple of gradual inclines. Granted they feel mountainous when running them ⛰😆
