Hi I am new here. I did start the C25K last year but stopped as I got sore ankles!
However determined this time. I done W1r1 yesterday on treadmill. Does it make any difference?

Yes. It does make a difference. Running on a treadmill is likely to be more boring but less harsh on your joints. For some it's a great way to get fitter with less pain, and for others its a surefire way to get bored mindless after a session or two and thus never get back to running again.
If it works for you, then that's great. The main thing is to make 2015 the year where you *complete* c25k and get into good exercise habits
Hi Katlyn, I agree its what ever works for you, just get yourself moving,I am 21st (yes shock horror eek) and I am doing it on a reebok cross trainer. The thought of running outside is horrific to me as small children might point and say 'mummy why is a hippo running down the road' lol but also the stress on my knee joints. So I do it in the sanctuary of my front room where the cross trainer stares at me if I sit on the couch saying 'come big girl you know you want to'. I have just completed week 6 about 5 mins ago and I have already lost a stone. YAY ME XX
'come big girl you know you want to' LOL
You can now run for 25 minutes and have lost a stone. That's fantastic and well done for this achievement. You'll have graduated in no time.
Well done you!
Go bluebear, my trainers say the same to me.
katlyn - which ever one makes you feel best. The one that will get you completing the programme. The one thing about outside is you get to see some wonderful, funny things. Like on my run 3 very toned, half naked men ran past, with their six packs glistening with sweat in the sun. Now you don't get to see that on the treadmill.
Thanks folks. I think I will start off then progress to outside!
I run on the treadmill. It's a bit easier than outside. Less stress on the joints, no wind resistance, and a preset pace. Apparently a 1% incline makes it close to running outside (and even 0.5% makes a noticeable difference). I listen to tunes or the watch/listen to the telly, so get headphones and a mp3 player. Running while staring at the wall will drive you crazy. The downside is that eventually you'll want to do a parkrun or a charity run etc, and you'll need to learn to pace yourself outside.
Thank you for all the answers, I aim to do second run tomorrow. I have been on 2 twelve hour shifts so didnt attempt it yesterday.
