Great run, much better than last one of week 6, but I go so so so red in the face when I run these longer times. Have people found this improves as you get used to running, or is it a fact of life for some people? Is it just because I'm ginger
Wk7 R1 RED!!: Great run, much better than last... - Couch to 5K

I always had a bright red face when I exercised even as a child. So yes when I started running my face took on this deep cherry colour! It does ease the more you run and mine doesn't get red now on most runs ( just a tad pink) but on hard runs it flares up again, along with the sweat!
But I don't care as I I see it as a badge of honour and I work hard for that colour!
Be proud!

Me too, I've always gone very red in the face. Only when I'm really going for it though so yes, it just says I've given myself a proper workout!

Congrats on your run - lovely day for it. Isn't it amazing that we're talking about 'great runs' So recently it was puffing after 1 minute!

It does get better, honest! But, as Irishprincess says, you'll always be red faced after a hard run and it most definitely is a badge of honour. Wear your beetroot face with pride

I and my daughter are the same, we decided we have an efficient heat distribution/radiation/conduction system that shows effort, determination and tenacity, what's not to like? This girl can!

It really does get less 'beetrooty' as you learn to pace yourself. I still won't wear a pink top though!

This happens to me too and I'm not on the long distances yet (just done W5 R3), it is a badge of honour due to working hard but i get self conscious passing other people, especially none runners!

I don't see why. No-one gives a hoot so you shouldn't either.
Happy running! Beetroot red is the new pale and interesting. LOL
