Graduated, but with a blister

Finally finished last week (yay), but on my 2nd last run I got a blister on the arch of my foot (who really knows how, the shoes have been fine up until this point). That meant, even with the day rest, my final run wasn't great, so actually 'graduating' was counterbalanced by having probably the worst run of the programme, booo.

I'm going to start up again next week, trying to keep my 3 runs a week going now I can do it, but just wondering what anyone's experience of dealing with blisters is? I've had a blister plaster on for the last few days, which has just come off, and the blister is still there, which is annoying especially as it's a big one!

Thanks :) It was a bit disappointing - I was so close to stopping the whole time but I did manage it, so I think I'll feel happier once I've done a non-blister run again!

Congratulations! Shame about the blister - it may be something to do with your socks?

Lots of running adventures to look forward to!

Congratulations on your graduation, in spite of the uncomfortable blister (hope it heels soon). When your ready I'm sure you will enjoy your future running, keep smiling. 😊

I reckon that's your socks - go and invest in a good technical pair - I bought some cheap ones from Decathlon and had to abandon the run close to the end as I was in so much discomfort with them - you can even buy anti blister socks so give it a try

Thanks - I was using running socks, but they were quite cheap and it might well be the pattern/stitching on them which caused the issue - will see how I get on with some better ones

Don't pick at the blister. Leave it. I had a couple and put a dab of Vaseline on before my run. It seemed to work and they just dried up and healed. I didn't burst them as I read that you shouldn't

Make sure you have proper running socks and that your shoes are fastened firmly, but not over tight.

Congratulations on your Graduation. Well done!!!

Congrats on your graduation, where's your badge? Don't forget to ask for it, you've earned it x

Hurrah for graduating :D Boo for the blister :(

I don't use running socks but use some thin ones that seem to work well with my trainers. Anything thicker gives me a blister ...
