New shoes too (naughty me). Took people's recommendation and went to Sweatshop - they were fantastic (so was the price of the shoes mind you - fantastic as in fantastically high) But I thought - I'm in this for the longterm, hopefully, and really, really, really don't want to damage my knees and have to give up. Run 3 here we come. My usual route which I want to stick to for the 'security' of it, takes me up hill at 9 - 12 mins I reckon (having just done a downhill at 5 - 7 mins), so dreading that - but once I get to the top it'll be flat for 13 - 20. Roll on Saturday and fingers crossed for the weather - today was fine.

Me too, just back from W5/R2. It was much better than I expected. Managed to calm the breathing down. How did you find it? Good luck for Saturday! And I'm very jealous re the new shoes - I've promised myself a pair as my birthday present to myself in March if I complete the programme. Would like a nice, bright colour for happy running :)

Yes, it was fine - I don't find a prob with my breathing now, just the old legs. I should have waited for my shoes as my birthday is end of Feb (wk 9) and it would have been the right thing to do as a reward if I finish but I just didn't want to damage myself and obviously I'm greedy - but if I can keep going then it will have been worth it. Don't worry, I've got all the justifying excuses! Yes, mega good luck for Saturday - if we can do that, it will be amazing won't it. Just hope this rotten weather keeps at bay.

New shoes are so exciting. I got a new pair at the weekend. Good luck to both of you for the weekend just remember slow and steady is the way to go. If it feels too much, slow down some more you will be fine.

Well done, Buffy, we're moving along aren't we? I can hardly believe it! Hope the weather and everything else goes well on Saturday. You'll breeze through it and feel amazing at the end, I'm sure. I'm heading for run 2 of week 6 tomorrow and can't wait - it's crazy! Enjoy!

Yes, its crazy I agree. Can't believe we're enjoying this so much. People say wk 6 is a turning point and a real struggle but you seem to be fine. Well done. Gives me some hope as lots of people seem to find it tough but its obviously manageable. Here's to sunshine!
