Running in Kenya WK5 R2

Phew! Well, just managed the 8 minutes twice but had a slight twinge of a stitch. We are moving into winter here (Southern Hemisphere) so the cooler weather helps. It seems an awfully big jump to Wk5 R3 though - have people found that hard?

Here is a bird that was watching me part of the time - a weaver bird.

I was very nervous for week 5 run 3, but the runs so far prepare your body for it. The mental challenge was greater than the physical challenge!

You'll be fine. As cimer say's it's more about the mental challenge than physical

Agree with all the above! Also you will have some very interesting wildlife to distract you! Good luck and keep us posted. :)

Good job running through week 5 run 2. Run 3 seems scary, but you really, truly can do it. Take deep breaths if you get a stitch. You are going to feel like a superstar when you finish!

Like everyone, we all had doubts over W5R3, it seems like such a huge jump from 8mins to 20 mins, but honestly - like cimer says - the previous weeks have prepared you for this. Just listen to your body, take it slower this time (it's not a race) and go & do the run, you can do it.
