Well done! My best tip is to keep logging onto this forum as there are some amazing and inspirational stories which will mean all thoughts of giving up and staying in to eat cake will be banished!

Thank you :) it would be great to have some support and inspiration, I'm only running inside at the moment but I already feel a bit fitter. I haven't exercised regularly in a long time so really want to get healthy again and avoid that cake!

I have a bit of a problem. I love the running, and I'm up to 6k now, but I LOOOOVEE the cake too! Hey ho.

Well done Julie_ann it's a great program just take it steady and make sure you take your rest days

Well the hard part part is starting the programme in the first place, so well done for doing that AND completing the first week. Stick at it and I hope week 2 goes well for you. I had never run in my adult life before I started this in my fifties. It really does work if you take it slow and steady. Good luck !

Keep on running, slowly. Those run/walk sessions are great for building leg strength and stamina

I'd ease off eating afterwards as you're not burning that many calories yet.

You don't need to eat extra til you're running more than 10 kms. Sorry to say! LOL

Keep plugging away at C25k and it won't be long til you are

Well done - you've crossed the biggest hurdle. Now, if you can keep this up you can reach the stage where you can run and have that cake too.

I'm starting to rate my runs in terms of food rather than distance and time on occasion. The 7.5K I did yesterday equalled 2 mince pies. I felt extra virtuous by then not eating them when I got home (but this might also be something to do with the fact that there aren't any left...).

Well done, you've made a great positive start.

I too, like MANY others here had not run until C25K - and now I love it, again, like loads of us. I'm not up to the big distances like many have gone on to, but I run 5k 3 times a week and feel fitter and healthier than ever before. I have a feeling I'll get up to doing a bit more in the next few months.

Please continue - this will be the best thing you've ever done, and you'll feel just great.

Try to avoid the cake.. says she who ate the most delish millionaires shortbread today..

:) xx
