After Week 5 run 3

After feeling the highs of the 20 minute run at the end of week 5 run 3 came the short 5,8,5 minute jogs of week 6 run 1. I didn't enjoy the stop starting of this run. So decided to try my own thing last night. I picked my own route and just went for it. I jogged very slowly and paced myself. Once I reached my destination it was time to turn around and go home. That is when I discovered I had actually ran for total of 29minutes and 43 seconds and clocked up 3.8Km. Tomorrows run should be a 25 minutes. I know I can do this. Every week is actually now getting easier.

Week 6 seems to be the one that catches loads of people by surprise after that high of getting through the scary sounding 20 minute run! Sounds like last night's run was a good one and have a great run tomorrow :)

This will give you confidence - you know you'll be able to run for 30 mins now. It was w6R3 where I ditched the podcast and used my own music with the app but things didn't go to plan! The app failed and I ran for 32 mins! It wasn't a bad thing because ever since then I've known for sure that I will make the end of the programme as I've run for more than 30 mins once so I can definitely do it again.

Good luck with the rest of the weeks.

Yeah it seems to get most people but, to be honest, I really enjoyed week 6. It was really nice to do the 25 min run without the panic of W5R3 :D and I did enjoy building up to it with the intervals too :) Well done on your achievement. You now know you can not only do 25 mins but 30 mins too :)

I would stick with the programme, graduate and then do your own thing. It's easy to get too far ahead of yourself and end up on the injury bench. Rein yourself in a bitm as the last thing you need is a crocked ankle when the finish post is in sight.

Good luck with your remaining runs!
