Can someone enlighten me as to why my running stuff washing instructions suggest I don't add conditioner?

Washing running clothes
I think it degrades the elastane (or whatever they're made of). I put it in though as I'd not read the instructions, cept for the bit about 30 degrees. Oops
Fabric conditioner is a pretty evil stuff to begin with, bt will totally knacker compression gear and technical fabrics.
I should probably inform my wife about this...!
It also stops fabric from wicking away sweat etc. That's why you shouldn't use it when you wash your bath towels and tea towels either.
Thank you all. Enlightened.
I hadn't read the labels either, but I have to say I have washed my Nike running gear and Aldi compression undies loads of times with conditioner without noticing any ill effects at all!
Labels???? Never even looked at 'em! I normally just chuck my running gear in the wash with everything else when I have a full load...Maybe it increases static or something, and you'll give yourself shocks when you rub various bits together...
Wash running gear????? - after a run, when I am soaked with sweat, I generally get into the shower fully clothed , and disrobe in the shower - hanging the gear up on a drip rail, where it drips itself dry over the rest of the day. Seems OK by me -- doesn't seem to need any kind of "conditioner"
