To the utmost delight of many who disliked warm weather, the gods obliged and delivered a more standard fare of winds and rain. A friend told me this morning that there’s no way that she would run in this weather, the same friend who decided not to run during the recent warm spell. The same friend who is so picky when it comes to weather that she in effect runs not very often. I suggested that she simply switches over to another form of cardio exercise, like brisk walking between the rooms, if the temperature in her house is alright and there’s no draught savagely roaming through the corridors. Or simply sit back on the sofa and do some body building by lifting the remote control, a glass of wine and a slice of cake, up and down, repeatedly. She took offense.
For the rest of us, intrepid outdoor runners, it’s time to think about our running apparels given that the weather is more than versatile. Due to recent incidents where various members of the public in my humble parish were spotted wearing a green Larry Bird top, the same as mine, I have invested in a more jovial and different Reggie Miller ‘98 jersey, hoping to retain my unique appearance in my part of the world. Let’s see how it goes. Some of you may know that I write my own blog and the recent article is about running clothes, year round options. You can check it out and leave comments if so you wish. Enjoy your running!
If you want really unique, I may still have a Jordan 45 Bulls shirt at the back of my wardrobe... don’t remember seeing one of them over here, apart from watching the Bulls at MSG game from his comeback season when he bagged 55 points in his 5th game back on Sky the other day.
Thanks for the post... I’m on the counterintuitive logic, I wear more in the heat (running trousers) than in the cold and rain (shorts)
Thank you kindly, good sir. Where I am there are numerous members of public wearing Michael's apparel, even more so after the recent Chicago Bulls fest, The Last Dance on Netflix. Which basically reminded me how much I liked and respected Mr Miller's game. I still do, hence the latest choice.
