I am a twat sometimes! It was busy today with other walkers, runners and dog walkers alongside the beach, concentrating on my dog not getting eaten whilst she runs with my friend and I can be a bit distracting. I heard Laura say...'Go for it' so I did a little spurt of faster running but the music carried on and so did I, albeit slower. Thought I was a bit knackered but still ran and then it stopped! It was then we realised we'd run for 33 minutes instead of 28....BRILLIANT!
Obviously don't have any worries about the next stage on Week 9 and looking forward to it. NOWHERE near the 5K mark but hey...we're old dears, we're running and we're enjoying it and intend to carry on. We'll get there in the end...
See you at the end of Week 9!

Well, well my old dear......I remember your first tentative post, not being sure whether it was really a good idea to do this running thing at your advanced age........now you are on the cusp of completing the programme.
OLD DEAR........my foot!!! Congratulations, you must be over the moon with that run and I am sure you are feeling the benefits all round by now. Good luck for Week 9.
Hahaha! You made me laugh! Feel like a forty year old...but can't find one! The old 'uns are the best 'uns! It's flipping brilliant, still loving it and can't wait to do more and more. Who da thought it?
How fabulous is that ? Now you know there is nothing stopping you you need to make plans for your running future after next weekend. How exciting is that ? Well done you two (and the dog)
Well done missus! Good innit! The best news is though that you can keep doing it for as long as you like.
Take it steady now though, calm down, calm down! You've got to finish strong, so you have to rein yourself in a bit to make sure you stay fit and well to get you through week 9. We don't want any dramas! Steady as she goes!
THAT was the problem, I did speed up for the last minute but the music didn't stop...didn't hear her say it was time for walking so carried on. Sensibly slowed down...well, had no choice. To be fair, I'm VERY slow anyway but that will only get better. LOVE it!
Well done you two, you'll have your badge and be advising the newbies in a few days - great feeling isn't it?
It IS a great feeling, amazing! I'm honestly shocked to my boots that this is happening at my time of life. I was just tipping morbidly obese this time last year and whilst still overweight, I'm on a mission to lose the lot! Who would've thought it could be THIS enjoyable, revelation! x
I was just saying to BaldyBoy yesterday I remember when I first started and found this blog, I saw all the graduate badges and thought they would never be handed out to someone like me....I thought they must go to special extra fit people who could actually run...I still can't believe it's ME who's actually running...well done on your weight loss to, you WILL lose the lot... xx
