No, not bored, but I often wish it was time to stop! But on other occasions my mind leaves my body, (my wife would say it left a long time ago!) and I daydream, while my body gets on with the hot sweaty stuff.
I run alone and listen to audiobooks, so never get bored. I sometimes wish I could go round the block again to get to the end of the chapter, but am usually knackered so overcome this urge!!!
No, never bored. Just wanna stop the run. Thankfully that's got better with practice.
Unfortunately I've not located good earphones for running with yet so I've been taking in the sights.
Laura is pretty awesome so I'm sticking with her for now - I completed C25K in July and then regressed so have jumped back into the middle of the C25K programme to get my mojo back.
Suggestion: stick to the programme and don't do more than suggested while on it i.e. so you reduce the chance of losing interest.
I run on a treadmill, so yes I get bored - walking. running on the other hand is anything but. Counting the seconds and trying to keep going is more than enough to keep me occupied.
btw aldi have some cheap running kit in store at the moment including an armband for your phone and some earphones with ear clips to keep them in place. well worth a visit
Scary to be asking about getting bored at this stage!
The thing about the NHS C25K programme is that it isn't really about running per se (fabulous though running is)... the NHS want you to be fit and well and being a healthy weight and taking regular exercise is a big part of that. Their C25K is giving you the tools to do that - and a key element of that is some mental discipline. You run when you are told, no more than that, you have non-running days so your body is ready for the next run, and you are adopting a regular habit instead of being like all the other New Year's Resolution-ers who will have packed it in in a few weeks time.
I've been on this forum nearly three years now and interestingly it is the folk who have been runners or who already do regular exercise of some other sort who often find it difficult to get to graduation....Let the liberty to carry on running be part of your motivation to stick to the programme and complete it, just as many of us like the podcast route so you have the carrot of switching to your own choice of music on graduation and not before.
Before I started c25k i couldn't see the attraction of running, but now is a different story. The further I went through the program the more enthusiastic I got, if you follow Laura you won't go far wrong. Enjoy your running and the benefits will follow!
Good advice above.....I would add that sticking to the programme is important - don't overdo it and then lose heart / motivation (as it does get tougher). I usually run from home (graduated last summer) and have devised several running routes now, so varying them keeps it interesting. Good luck and keep going!
