So it is freezing, slippy and sleeting today and my local park is closed on mondays (off season) so I ran this morning on the treadmill at the gym at a slight incline.
The first 3 mins was fine
The first 5 mins were spent starting at the word "fit" on a "how fit are you?" poster in front of me and thinking about the possibility of actually being fit.
The second 3 mins I started to feel it in my legs and breathing so I put the speed down a bit and changed my stride slightly to run in my toes more as my calves were aching.
The last 5 mins were hard until about 3 mins in when I seemed to hit a point when I could do it. Really do it
So I gradually increased speed until I was sprinting and everything seemed to make sense.
I seriously considered just keeping on running...
...until my iphone fell off the treadmill at 40 secs to go, scooted merrily across the gym floor and rested face down by the ellipticals.
I finished the 5 mins then thought best to stop and retrieve the (unsmashed) little blighter before it got trodden on.
Then I walked home and storted at a little voice in my head that said I should stop at aldi en route for some chocolate.
Yay!!!
