Looks lovely, but I think running on sand is REALLY hard work.

I'm confused by the picture though. Were all those cars reversed into the parking spaces? Round here you'd only see it in something like one in 10 000 cars.

No --- where you can see the front wheels of those cars, there is a small low concrete strip which separates the carpark (on the other side of the concrete strip) from the road - so they have all parked nose-in to that strip from within the car parking area to the side of the road. Did you only see one pic here goo.gl/L8U8CR ?? At the top of that pic , there is a link "NEXT" -- click on that link and there are another 500 photos of the first Parkrun day
