Well I've now managed my 2nd run and how anyone enjoys this running malarkey amazes me haha BUT with a 4 year old and a police fitness next week I need to get in shape. It is hard I am not going to lie but that's probably also because I started running in November when it is bloody freezing out as well.

Next week! You have high hopes if you want to get fit in a week.

It is fun!!! Admitted more fun in warm weather but you're a man not a munchkin. You can do it. Running in the cold certainly toughens you up and you'll be soon turning out in your running tee, with just a thin running jacket, without giving it a second thought. Chilly weather certainly makes you walk very briskly for the warm-up

I think the enjoyment comes once you've got into the habit and routine of running and can find it less strenuous as you get fitter. You'll only get fitter though if you keep doing it

So put a smile across your face and get run 3 out of the way

You haven't got to the fun bit yet...but well done for starting the programme, the hard part is getting out of the door in the first place. Hopefully you will still be running in the summer and then you will appreciate these these lovely cool temperatures but you'll have to keep it up to find out....Happy running !

Next week! You do know you have to do the bleep test don't you? (That was the case a few years ago when I did it anyway).

Hey! Well done for starting, I think keeping at it is one of the hardest parts with any exercise! I just finished week 2 and it IS hard and when I was out today I had to be thinking to myself 'Just keep going!' but I got there, and afterwards you feel great. Also it does get easier as the weeks go on. I swear two weeks ago a slow jog for 30 seconds would have given me a stitch and made me feel awful, but when I started running today I was thinking 'wow this is so much easier than it was before'. And I'm really overweight. I quite like running in the cold because it motivates you to warm up and also is quite refreshing when you are all red and panting! Also I find people you go past give you smiles and it helps me to think tha they're looking at me and impressed at the effort I'm putting in. A man even gave me a thumbs up today! Anyway I hope some of this is helpful, and keep it up. Good luck with the fitness test too! I wouldn't be brave enough of that aha!

You will start to get addicted like most of the rest of us here, just give it time! You have started at a bad time of year so if you can run in this weather just think how great it'll be to run in the spring! Really well done in starting this and getting the second run done. You won't regret it.

Hi Ben! Well done on getting started and good luck on your fitness test! I started last week, phew, it's not the easiest, I find just getting myself out the door the hardest. I'm going to do my third run tonight, eeek. Once I'm out and definitely once I'm back (!) I really enjoy it! For me starting at this time of year is good, as I'm under the cover of darkness lol....Hoping to be able to do a 5k by January (crikey mentally that seems like a loooong way off just now!). Good luck with it.... :)
