Uh oh. That doesn't sound too good. I think you will have to give it time to heal. It sounds like you may have pulled the muscle. Did you warm up properly? That can sometimes be a cause.

If I were you, I would continue to stretch it from time to time and just rotate the end of your foot in circles when sitting. If you have any swelling then a cold or hot compress may help.

I would not suggest running until it is feeling better. This is one of those times when listening to your body makes sense otherwise you could be out for much longer.

My name's Mark by the way. Hope it gets better soon Rebecca. Chin up!

Blast, could it be we are starting to need longer warm ups with the colder mornings??? It may be something that has been building for a whole or maybe you have overdone things in the last week or two? Either way it is pants, sorry to hear about it happening:( definite rest & gentle stretching, baths, massage, etc till you feel a lot better. If in doubt seek doc/physio advice. DO NOT RUN for a good few days and until you know it is suitably healed, otherwise could get worse. Frustrating I know x

I'm no health professional but if you can feel a lump it MAY be a muscle knot (pesky little things they can be) I got a bad one in my neck causing a painful crick and after looking on YouTube for tips my better half managed to massage it out (you have to go around the knot not on it and try to loosen it out slowly over a few massages) a good sports maassuse or physio should be able to work this out for you but go carefully if you decide to give it a try yourself, don't overwork it. Agree with the others, no running until it feels better and try to rest and stretch gently as often as possible. If it's no better in a few days time you might want to visit the docs. Hope it feels better soon!

Ouch! I've no experience of this, but I do feel for you and hope you recover soon.
