Well i made it so feeling relieved! Boz and i headed out for our 2nd 10k tonight, along the floodlit seafront, bit more interesting than our 10k along the Cowes cycle track 2 weeks ago! bit chilly to start with but soon warmed up! niggles as usual on the 1st few k's, mainly 1 knee, but it got better as i went along! Half way turnaround point came and we were hit with a blast of sea breeze which was most refreshing! both said at the same time "oh thats nice"! but then would running into the wind slow us down? Past the pretty lit up Sandown pier and the end was in sight! the wind was a bit less brutal under the cliff path and soon we hit 8k, i told Boz of Juicyju's mantra of "work that body, punish that body!" (not sure if its quite that but something similar!) Come on then he said and we pushed on, and the last 2ks were our fastest! we made it, then i collapsed for a min on bench before warm down walk.... And the result was..... 1min 42 secs faster than 2 weeks ago, and a good steady pace overall of 6.42a km. So pleased, tired, bit achy all at once but it was not as hard as that 1st one so yay, things looking ok for 10k on 4th October!
2nd 10k done on blowy seafront! :) : Well i made... - Couch to 5K
2nd 10k done on blowy seafront! :)
Brill work, and what a lovely setting! You will blast your4th Oct 10k!!!
Fantastic run, I so love the sea, and I'm so glad you used the mantra... Good pace is say all on track for October .. Well done
Well done Ali, that sounds lovely. Wish I could run with someone, but both daughters and OH are so much taller than me that our stride patterns don't work together (oh and OH has had 3 lots of knee surgery so he'd rather cut his leg off than run on concrete!!) Looks like you're on track for a good time on 4th Oct.
Well done Ali. Looking good for the big day. Good news on the improved times there, against the wind too!
That sounds fantastic! Well done Aliboo and Boz - it must be very nice having somewhere beautiful to run!
Sounds like a wonderful run with a great result! Feeling good AND beating a PB at the same time. Congratulations!
