A Week later.....

Well after a manic few days involving a child off to Uni, Richard III and ELO, I have finally got around to completing Week 6! I should have run it last Thursday and I was actually going to run the second run again, but after some good advice on here, I decided to go for it. I put on my new shoes (Asics Gel Nimbus 14s) and set off.

Today is probably the warmest weather I have run in and after the first five minutes I thought I wasn't going to make it. When Laura said I was half way there, Map My Run told me my pace and I realised I was going to fast. I slowed it down and actually managed the whole 25 minutes. It wasn't easy - no way I was going to be able to pick up the pace - but I did it!!!!! Week 7 will commence on Sunday - now I am going to cool down.

Nice work RK - glad to see you're back :)

Welcome to week 7. Hope you're feeling very proud of yourself! :) I'm on week 7 too and I can't quite believe my progress in such a short time. We're nearly there... :)

Thank you :0) - it was good to get back out there. I have actually missed running which is something I never, ever thought I would say! I checked Map My Run and I covered 4.5k in total and ran for about 3.5k which I am just amazed about! Good luck with week 7 :0)

A busy life gets in the way sometimes but well done, it must have been the new shoes making you go faster.

It does doesn't it, but I really wanted to get back out there. And those silly new shoes, instead of me slowing my pace when I checked the stats, I actually got quicker lol!

Ha ha - I don't think MMR would ever tell me to slow down. On the couple of occasions I've taken it with me, I'm sure I can hear it shouting 'come on, stop sitting on that park bench'!!!

I think MMR would probably tell me to run faster if it could too!!
