Wow!!! I am so impressed. Even with two years training, a first time HM at the age of 70, that's gotta be one of those stories legends are made of. And when my grandchildren many years out in the future talk about it, I can say "I was on the c25k forum with her, almost felt like I knew her", and they'll look at me with awe in their eyes.
Well done do you for chosing to do that. Respect!!
OMGoodness! That's an amazing commitment GJ and what a great idea to get it out here so its real now. Supa-impressed and very best of luck with the training
I usually run alone but was running with my sister who was visiting, she commented I had picked up pace a little, and it got me thinking . 1/2 marathon for my 70th. and it just grew.It may never happen , but damn it I will try !
Wow that's fanatsic. Well done you. Enjoy your training is the best advice I can give you. I loved every minute of training for my Tri, even the hard days becuase I knew I was working towards something that meant a lot to me. It makes it a great journey. Happy running.
Wow GJ - that is some ambition. You are a gutsy lady and I'm sure if you have made your mind up to do it, you will be successful. We'll all be cheering your efforts on!
Wow, seriously impressed!! Wish you all the best for the HM not that you need it, I am sure that you will get to the end and say, right, what's next then!
Don't start formal training too soon and run out of steam - just keep running and 'enjoying' it for a while; most of us are surprised (well I am) at how far that gets us! You can do it and we are all here for you - your very own "C25K Team Granny Judes".
Thats amazing grannyjudes, I'm 100% sure that you will get there with all that determination, and what a great focus for such a special occasion! As you've said before, c25k-ers rock!
Way to go GJ. You're an inspiration to the rest of us!! I'm seriously impressed and looking forward to reading you're progress updates over the next 2years. Go for it M'dear
Now , there's your problem Granny Judes - you don't think BIG!! There were 50 people over the age of 80 who finished this years Sydney City to Surf race (14 klm) -- now THAT's someting to aspire to !!
I think that's what's so good about this forum, you feel you are letting people down if you don't do what you say you will. And you get so much encouragement.
