Yikes Week 5 Run 3 on Friday: Just completed W5R... - Couch to 5K
Yikes Week 5 Run 3 on Friday
Of course you can. One foot in front of the other. Slowly but steadily.
Pretty much everyone freaks out at the prospect of W5R3 and pretty much everyone comes back and reports how they surprised themselves by managing it with much less stress than they anticipated.
Just have faith in the programme. It really works.
You certainly can do it - you've already run 16 (8x2) so it's only another 4. The only difference is that there's no walk in between! If you feel the need, slow right down until you recover then try and go a little faster if you can/want to.
Believe in yourself, believe in the programme and you will be back here on Friday celebrating like a good'un!
Yes you can....I ran it on Friday. I spent quite a long part of the day pysching myself up to get out there, but once I did and got into a kind of stride, it went OK. Just start off nice and steady and you will get there!
It sounds much worse than it is - you'll be fine!
Of course you can do it.
You can do it...think of it as running two10-minute intervals, consecutively
Yes, you CAN. It seems huge, and it is huge, but it is more of a mental challenge. Once you've done it and you know you can run for 20 mins you will feel really great about yourself and you will be able to see how you can reach the 30 mins to complete the programme.
Yes you can absolutely do it, you've done the prep work.
Of course you can! This is the first of the longer runs and you will feel amazing when you have done it! Just keep it really slow
You can do it and remember slow and steady. Good luck for friday
Bex, you can do it and you will do it! Have faith in your body (which is more than ready for this challenge) and have faith in the programme which has prepared you for this. Just make sure you give the gremlins the shove off ... squishing them under each foot as you run is quite a neat trick
Look forward to reading the post of your successful run.
You can absolutely do this.
As others have said - it is really daunting, but the sense of achievement you feel afterwards is brilliant. I did it on Sunday, and had my doubts about managing it right until I hit the 18-minute mark! Take it slow, be steady, keep calm... and amaze yourself!
Then try to keep the grin off your face, and come and blow your own trumpet on here afterwards!
Very best of luck to you see you in week 6!
Yes just take it easy...I emptied my mind...(easy for me!) and didn't think about it. Just did it...& so can you!
I felt the same - how can this be - I seriously thought it was a mistake - I am not very bright. It is just awesome just how many people who do not think they can do this simply manage to do it. You will do it - all you have to do is run - and soon you begin to understand that running is actually so much more fun than not running.
Still grinning after doing it Sunday honestly SB you gotta do it slow and then slow some more..... and before you know it - its done and you want to tell the world - go for it the feeling is amazing
