contemplating something incredibly stupid
Oh go on, sign up, you know you want to! Plenty of time to train. And if you need to walk for a bit, who's to know in the dark?
You just have to go for it GJ! It's not stupid at all. You will be ready by then! Sound like great fun-just sign up, go for it and enjoy! We're right behind you! X
Hey Judes , what would Freddie say hmm ? Yes , Don't Stop Me Now
You gotta go for it GJ, you will be fine and you will have a brilliant time , honest, promise, yes you really will xxx
I'm sorry, GJ, truly I am, but you come here and expect us to ***STOP*** you signing-up for something?! No chance whatsoever of that happening! I certainly won't discourage you; this is someone who signed-up for a marathon on a whim.
GlOw FOR IT! March is ages away and in any case, it will be more about the experience than PBs, something like that. I'm pretty sure you won't be the last one in!
Go for it.
Go for it GJ. It sounds brilliant. If I lived near you I'd come and do it too xx
I'm not going to stop you, I think you should go for it
I have only been and gone and bloody done it !! my stomach is churning !!

Aw Judes, I understand totally, Im the same about mine in May 2015, my excitement is at fever pitch but I am nervous too ! D'ya know what ? You will come on here after the event and say that you had a brilliant time and that you were so glad you did it ! Lifes for living Judes, you will have a ball ! xxx

If you feel that you wouldn't be able to do the distance non-stop - here is a good looking run/walk programme jennyhadfield.com/wp-conten... that might appeal to you.
I signed up for my recent 14K race , only about 3-4 weeks into C25K. At that time, I decided that I would do it run/walk and trained for it that way after completing C25K. But by the time I got to do the race, I started out doing run/walk ( modified by running down all hills) but basically mostly ran when I felt like it and walked for a short while when I felt like it. At my own steady pace, I completed the run satisfactorily - which I am sure you will too.
I also made sure during my training that I had completed the full distance a few times so that I knew I could complete the distance during the race.
You will be fine, we all have faith in you! GO grannyjudes!!
I'll be watching the "speed of light" 5k in Bournemouth, it looks like great fun, after my "Supersonic 10k "in 4 weeks! eek! not long now!
Didn't you post on here that you did 7k ? Very shortly after you'd graduated ? Of course you can do 10k, you are a very determined lady by all accounts and it sounds like SUCH FUN !! In the dark ! Glow sticks ? Torches ? It'll be wonderful. Enjoy the training !
yes henpen your right I did do 7k but a struggle and only did it coz I got lost !! and yes it does sound great fun , I THINK I am excited !!
See gj; I told you before you are my hero....and now you've proved it!!!
You're the one who can run for 60 minutes non stop already - and there are six months left to train for it. Of course you can, and will, do it!!
Glow in the dark too; it sounds magical
I am so glad that you signed up for it You have done 7K and it is not until next year (that sounds SO far away) so you have plenty of time to train. I have also signed up for a 7.5K run in the dark, 15th Jan, and am now finding it hard to think about anything else. It is so scarily exciting, isn't it.
I know exaxctly what you mean I seem obcessed !! But tbh the 7k was because I got lost and it damn near killed me, but yes, your right, I have managed it once
