I'd say stop looking ahead so much. Just worry about the run you're doing *now*, and trust the program. It's gotten you this far.
If you go out expecting to fail you will fail.
If you struggle with any of the runs it's not a failure. Just do it again. Nobody is sitting with a score sheet marking your performance. All that matters is doing the runs. If you have to redo one or two (or three...) so be it.
Hi Hoopla - have faith in yourself and the programme. By the time you get to the third run, you'll be ready for it if you've successfully completed all the previous runs. And there's no harm in repeating any of the runs if they feel a bit tough - the only person you're competing against is yourself.
Good luck, don't flap and let us know how you get on. We're all behind you cheering you on ... you CAN do it
The programme is designed to ensure you can run 20minutes.
Trust it. More importantly trust in yourself and your ability. If you have come this far, you WILL be able to do the twenty. We have all been there and all felt the same.
Do tonights run and if need be, take 2 rest days. You will do this, of that I am sure.
This run has scared a lot of us and you know what? We've survived it!
You'll do it. Your body (and your head) have been in training and you will be ready for this run. Don't even think about not doing it! Think how fabulous you'll feel afterwards!
I was apprehensive about that run, but ultimately it is just one foot in front of another - relax take a deep breath and you will be fine
Don't look ! Don't look ! Honestly you should be able to do it if you have done the runs leading up to it. I had sleepless nights worrying about this run and when it came to it it was surprisingly ok. Have faith in yourself.
Well, just back from it, and it went fine. Still tempted to repeat today's run at least one more time to give myself the best chance of doing the last one successfully?
I just done R1 and was thinking during it ... you know what, my legs feel strong, my breathing is regular, I could slow up a little, I actually think I am anticipating Laura telling me to stop - but like she says just go for it slow and steady, there's a few of us going for it this week and I'll bet we'll all be WHoop Whooping in week 6 next week just don't over think it you can do it!!!
Aw Hoopla, sounds like youre getting yourself in a right tizz over this one
Right first of all , deep breath and relax ......
I know its easy for me to say, but please don't worry. I can totally understand where youre coming from, in fact, the thought of Week 5 Run 3 seriously gave me a couple of sleepless nights worrying about it.
But, the programme has been laying the foundations for this, it has built your emotional strength and stamina - Take it slow and steady and don't panic, you CAN do this , promise, cross my heart .
Just imagine how you will feel when you have run for 20 minutes, it is an incredible feeling . Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, trust in the programme and yourself. Just think of us all here cheering you on , deep breaths, relax and you will be fine , go for it ! xxx
You will definitely be ready...when it's time to do run three, but not before; you aren't ready now as you are ready to do run 2 now!
Trust in the programme: you will definitely be 'feeling it' when you do run 3 ( if my experience is anything to go by, you will be feeling it rather more than is pleasant) but you will feel really proud of yourself and on an 'exercise high' when you finish!
that 20 min run is a defining moment in the programme, trust in yourself and Laura, once you let past the first 10 mins you won't feel like theres long to go and we believe you can do it! mind of matter strategy definitely works Go Hoopla! you'll be amazed by your progress!
Ah this forum is amaze balls for advice when I think about how I was sure I wouldn't finish the 20mins it's still hard to believe I ran for 40mins on Tuesday - 10 weeks from zero to that , the programme is so well designed that you are determined to do it for yourself.
I agree - one foot in front of the other then get ready to celebrate !!
Good luck
Don't think about it any more, just go and do it... don't think about how long you'll be running for just keep the speed down and listen to Laura's lovely music, that'll get you through!
