Epic fail & lovely hubby.

Map My Run and I have fallen out. I set out today, completed my warm up walk, started the app and off I set jogging along merrily behind a girl on her horse. Voice in ear 'time 3 mins, distance 1km.....' Uhmm not sure about that 'time 6mins distance 2km' 3rd km seemingly took me 12.5 minutes. On coming home I would appear to have merrily skipped over hedges, charged across fields and finished nowhere near where I started - I started and finished at home & the house ain't moving! However. The app assures me I ran 7.07km in 25 mins. Nope. I know this route and I ran approx 4.5m. So it is with great sadness that I have replaced my app with a shiny Garmin - courtesy of my hubby who has one for golf and loves it. Up to this point he has taken no interest in my running so it was a lovely surprise. Now can this 42 year old technophobe work this gadget in the absence of a decent handbook???? In defence of the app I had, somehow, managed to set it to the run treadmill setting.

Thank you. I was very aware early on that the app had gone pear shaped. I shall dream of 3 min Kms and not attempt them! I'm delighted with my progress so far. Still stunned that I can run for 25mins without someone having to pick me out of the ditch.

Ooo a new Garmin! Result!! :) They're ever so simple to use and there's good online support, so you'll be an expert in no time :)

I have a new Garmin too, love it! Although mine stopped measuring at 9.94k yesterday - not run that distance before with it and it must have know I was tired, lol

I went on their website and downloaded a lovely manual - give it a try!

Thx for the tip. I am going to take it for its first test run tomorrow as long as the storms don't arrive.
