I have not been very active on this site but have been actively running and training for a10k in September. I am glad to say I have slowly built up to 7k and now feel the 10k is within reach. I intend running 10k before the date just to push myself to the target. I can't wait for it

Hi Daddio I'm sure you'll be fine. It will be good to test the water before the actual run to make sure you can do it. Don't do too much in the week leading up to the run though. Save yourself!

Good luck!

Oooh, you're getting close! I'm sure you'll feel great on the run, with all the buzz and the people and the mood in the air.

It's good to get close enough to the race distance so you KNOW for a fact you can do it, but you don't actually need to run the full distance before the race. If you were to train up to 9 km, then when you got to 9 km on the race day, there's no way your determination and keenness would allow you to not just continue running for the last km :)

All the best, and I look forward to hear how it all goes.
