This is what I did (I'm a bit of a technophobe too) - I went online with my smartphone to nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/.... There you can download the podcasts (that just really means a recording of something) on to your phone. Then, put your running shoes on, get some headphones, and go out! Listen to Laura, she'll tell you what to do, and then you'll be a graduate in 9 weeks!
There is a breakdown of each session there as well, so you can read what to do too, the first couple of weeks I ran just with a watch because I couldn't work out how to get the podcasts onto my phone...
If you want to put them on an Ipod, I imagine it's the same, but someone else can advise you about that. Good luck!
Yep as curly explains so well it is just about getting those shoes on and going out the door
Podcast instructions on the site are fairly clear I think - Laura talking you through the programme is the best way to do it - she's sooooo kind and helpful.
I download the podcast each week from the site Curly gives to my PC and then copy them across to my MP3 player - not techie enough in Casa Mia to own a smartphone Then as Curly says, it's put your headphones in, trainers on, follow exactly what Laura says on the podcast, and you're off and running!
Good luck, and don't forget to keep letting us know how you're getting on
I cadged an mp3 player to download the podcasts from the NHS Livewell site onto my computer and then onto the mp3 player. I didn't know what an mp3 player was so don't worry that you're the only non-techy person about. The techy stuff is much trickier than the running! LOL
If you're ageing and overweight you'll fit right in here. I would say most of us here are trying to get fit and lose weight. No better way in my opinion
You'll love it once you get into it. Laura (the voice over lady on the podcasts) will get you from A to B. You just do everything she says and you'll be fine. Have fun!
Have you worked out what to do yet? The podcasts sound technical but actually they're just mp3 files so you treat them as any other music files on your mp3 player or phone.
Let us know if you're having problems and we'll try to guide you further. It's much easier than you think - I was 63 when I started it and I hadn't run since hating it at school. If it got this old body running three times a week then you can certainly do it!
