Snap I did my first run today, was glad it was over but very pleased I did it. When are you doing run 2 - I'm hoping for Monday. Only issue I had was my phone kept slipping out my waistband and into my joggers!

Don't go mad! Take it easy and don't strain yourself. Some gentle exercise on your rest days is a good plan but save your energy for your next run!

Good luck. It's all possible. I started 8 weeks ago and can now run 28mins. From Couch to 28 mins. You can do it too.

Well done ! That first run is incredibly hard. But, follow the podcasts and take it steady and you'll be amazed at what you can do.

Good luck :-)

Well done and good luck! The first day was awful, but I have now got as far as week 5 and am really enjoying it and am starting to notice the difference in shape and energy levels already.... and that is just from the c25k programme and no gym :-)

Oh wow thats really encouraging

Are you standing on the equator? I only ask as your pic is sideways!

Welcome to be big world of running. You have taken the first metaphoric and literal step, so in my book you ARE a runner, and I welcome you with open arms. We are all on here as we have been exactly where you are now, and we have all taken that first difficult step...and we have (more or less) survived.

The encouragement on here is amazing, and if you ever feel like you need support, you will always find it here.

My best advice to you is to take it easy. Don't go mad and try to, ahem, run before you can walk; but listen to Laura and to your body. If it needs a rest...take one...if it says you can run a bit more...do it, but don't overdo it.

Rest days are VITAL, and don't skip them.

Good luck, happy running and we look forward to your posts...and remember, you ARE now a runner.
