Newbie on first day run.

Hi, I'm Sussee and I'm new here. I downloaded the couch to 5K app late last night and have completed my first run today. I'm hoping to become a lot fitter and maybe lose some weight. Feeling buzzing about managing to complete day 1, although I didn't realise how unfit I actually was. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could recommend an app or something that would track my route, distance, speed and that sort of thing as I couldn't find it on the couch to 5K app. Thank you. x

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum.

If you want to record your runs download Strava or Mapmyrun, however, they are better on the later longer runs but if you want to you can use them in the earlier runs as well.

Thank you for your reply and for the the welcome. I will have a look at Strava and Mapmyrun, I know it's probably daft wanting to record my runs this early but was hoping to use it to watch as I progress with running. I really did enjoy my first run today and look forward to my next run on Friday. Anyway thank you once again for your reply.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes a list of tracking apps that can work with the C25k app although you do not need to know how far or fast you run to complete the plan.

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you for the reply. Wow week 3, well done. I know what you mean about the buzz, it's a great feeling. I'm looking forward to my second run tomorrow.

Strava is very good, it gives you all your stats. I’m on week 2 and have been tracking them from my first first day, it helps you see any improvements, I aim to get just a little bit further every time I go out so the app helps with that. Good luck 🍀😊
