Sweatshop?

I'm very lucky to have a 50% discount on running shoes at sweatshop and I'm planning to travel to a branch as there isn't one where I live. I'm planning to get gait analysis done there. Has anyone used them and if so how would you rate them?

Thanks! Never thought I would be excited about shopping for trainers!

Yes I had great service too! And they did a 30 day exchange if the shoes weren't what I wanted- even after wearing them. I'm excited for you! ;-) x

What a great discount, yes another recommendation from me. I went back after a few weeks as I had a few problems and the assistant would have exchanged them if I'd wanted but she advised persevering and she was right as they are fine now.

I got shoes from them and the gait analysis. I didn't buy their rather expensive insoles mind you. Don't feel pressured into buying them!

Another vote here, they were fab and yes they make custom insoles at the same time but they are not pushy about selling them and I didn't feel awkward saying no (very rare for me!) enjoy your shopping trip!

I don't think, in all the many mentions of Sweatshop here, I've ever noticed a negative comment (except of course paying full price)

I did buy the custom insoles but I wear them inside non-running footwear. After my first visit to Sweatshop I managed to trail round Meadowhell doing my Christmas shopping without my feet hurting which is saying something!

Of course you do have to bear in mind the expense of returning shoes if they are a long journey (it was for me) My first pair were hopeless - my knees knocked together, and of course I had tried them in the shop but it was different out on the trail. But the ones I swapped them for are perfect.

[I am a little biased as a very, very long time ago, the chap who founded Sweatshop gave me a lift when I needed it]

They are the absolute best! As a complete rookie the manager of one fairly local to me, spent ages talking: advising, gait analysing, explaining over pronation, insole making, and allowing me to get the feel of about a dozen different types of shoe. He asked about the surfaces I ran on, and what (if any) running experience I had previously! He was amazing and didn't at any time 'pressure sell'! He told me about their own running group and invited me, wished me heaps of luck with C25K, and explained that whatever I chose could be returned within 30 days if it didn't suit me after all. Don't think I've ever been more impressed with a shop. Returning to them again soon - wish I had a discount voucher. Lots of luck, Linda x

shopping, in sweatshop, with a 50% voucher, how cool is that. I live to far from a sweatshop to have tried one, but that is my next stop as soon as I need new trainers , enjoy
