Does 25 minutes seem more like 25 hours?

W6R2 done this morning. I'm planning changing my route for the 25 minute jog. I can't quite believe I'm planning and thinking ahead regarding the jogging! Who'd have thought it? Quite nervous about the next jog......... 25 minutes seems more like 25 hours - anyone else feel the same? :}

I had to comment on your post as it made me smile and took me back to that time when 25 minutes did seem more like 25 hours! Now, after graduating and just sticking, for the time being, to 30 minute runs they seem to fly by. In what seems to be no time at all I'm back home on the sofa with my feet up! Mentally I do say to myself that it's only for 30 minutes and I think that helps. I remember my very first one minute run seeming to last forever too! I think that as you get used to running for longer periods of time you concentrate less on the time and more on the technique, speed and distance etc. Good luck :)

THANK YOU iloverunning - good name by the way - it is as much a mental challenge as a physical one definitely. I'm looking forward to 30 minute runs and sticking with those also. I'd love to achieve that 3 times a week really. Thank you for replying :)

Hey SexyBexy, you can do it! Start out slowly, once that first 10mins are done it will fly by :)

You may just be surprised. I found the first two runs of that week really hard - I think my body was ready for the longer runs and the breaks were confusing it a bit, not allowing it to settle into a rhythm. Run 3 was quite a relief in comparison. Just relax, accept that the first 5 or 10 minutes are usually difficult until you settle into it and have fun!

Ooh I know how you feel, I am going to do the 25 minute run tomorrow - last week I did the 20 minute run in the rain but didn't really mind! Keep us posted on how it goes.

Like Hennith I found the longer run easier than the runs with breaks. Just don't be put off in those first 10mins.
