Whoop!

I ran my first full 5k this morning in the stellar (for me) time of 33:24. However, I must confess to having to stop twice for a level crossing, so I guess it's not quite the full Monty. I can never tell when the trains are going to come so whether I have to stop is a bit pot luck...

I did pause my timer when I stopped :-D

Quite. But an automatic barrier makes it compulsory :-D Good few minutes' stop each time :-(

Just about turn and run a couple of hundred yards back down the road, your always best to try and keep your feet moving in these situations any way.

5k is 5k well done. I don't have trains my problem is tractors. The roads around here are narrow so they tend to fill the road, sometimes I pause sometimes I don't.

Well Done - and thats an excellent time to be so chuffed with (geddit)

Well done. That's a great time. I have also been working towards 5k in 30mins and I am averaging about 6.23m per km. I just need to find a way of losing 23secs in every km. Let me know how you get on :)

The aim is to run 30 minutes BUT safely, no one would expect you to do otherwise, we all have to stop at road junctions etc during some runs, just stay safe is the important thing :) Congratulations on a good time for your first 5K too, nice one :)

Well done! That's a great time. I often wonder about these enforced pauses - I have awkward horse style gates to open that can really stop me for a while. I tend to find it isn't an advantage as the lactic acid seems to pool in my legs at these pauses so I think they can be discounted - pausing the timer is a good way.

Great time. Great job. I know what you mean about the level crossing. I had them where I lived before but admit I did that really annoying thing of running on the spot! I probably looked like a show offy idiot but I didn't care!
