Take 2.... first post disappeared

This is my third attempt at c25K, i started in January so my journey has taken 6months. Attempt one failed due to knee, attempt 2 failed due to holiday and moving to South America. So i have really been looking forward to week9 but the running gods had different plans....

Monday - Managed 30 mins but it was hard, it turned out to be an unexpected 21degrees (meant to be winter and recently been creeping into single digits temp wise but hello sun i have missed you!! )

Tuesday - sneeze, sneeze, sneeze followed by sniffle, sniffle, sniffle- oh no a cold!!

Wednesday - Urm i don't feel great!! Right its a little cold, stop being a baby and get out there - still 21degrees - this run is hard, i will stop for these traffic lights - oh chest feels tight. Come on you have done 10minutes you can do this, carry on stop to blow nose - so i decided to focus on the nice park and mountains and carried on. Laura finally says you have 5minutes left at this i spotted a bench and sat down - what a big mistake as could not move. On the way home i kicked myself for stopping at 5minutes to go, why didn't i continue. Then looked at garmin at did my first km in my fastest time 6.02, no wonder it was so hard. Anyway went to bed early to rest and recover

Thursday - Right proper rest today

Friday - Actually feel better, lets give it a try - five minutes in feel ok - easy does it now

10minutes - feels ok

Half way - i think i can do this

Five minutes to go - i am going to try to do 5km today and guess what.... I did it! I managed 5km in 32.18, still have cold but not feel rotten like i did on wednesday. Haven't managed to graduate but fingers crossed i will that on monday.

Brilliant report. Running is hugely psychological. Yeah, we have to train our bodies to take the strain, but it is normally the mind that makes us stop. Illness of any kind really shows up in our running performance, so be kind to yourself and set a steady pace for the graduation run that you can sustain. You will do it!

Keep running, keep smiling.

I am starting to understand that it is more your head than your body. Today I told myself nice a slow so I think that helped to get me to 5km but your right pace is something I need to work on among other things. Thank you.

Well done you! Firstly for graduating and secondly for that time - that's not slow by any means!

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you :) yeah I am pleased, my pace has been 6.30 on average for all my runs so happy with that. After graduating Need to focus on running for 30minutes so I am comfortable with that.

Really well done. Especially when you were still feeling a bit iffy. You haven't long to go now. Enjoy the rest of your journey.

Thank you. feeling much better now, it's amazing what a difference a day makes. I have a new running route so can't wait to try that some time next week. I think it's the weather that has made me ill, one minute warm next we are in single digits.
