After the first attempt at this I never thought I'd be saying it but I am loving my version of stepping stone. It took me a few runs to settle into the pace but I'm there now and it feels like my running style in improving.
As I'm still focussed on being able to do a 5km comfortbly rather than in a specific time, I run a 5km route and at Laura pace I cover about 4.3km in 30 minutes, but I keep on going till I hit the 5km mark. Today I did it in 33 minutes, not fast but if felt ok and I really feel my style is improving. Think I will stick with this plan for a couple of weeks and then move on to the speep tracks.
Happy running everyone.

fantastic. Catch you over a soup. I'm hoping for around 35 minutes but am not going to push myself as it's all about the finishing not the time. I read there are deer in the park and it could be muddy - never knew that when I signed up Was hoping it would be a nice wide clear and FLAT path - I dont do hills I'm getting there about 10am I hope so I can perhaps walk the course or at least feel a bit at ease.
I have only managed to run the 5k 4 or 5 times in training but am aiming to do one today and again on Thursday and then not run till Sunday. I am also doing an hour a day on the wii step and hope this will be enough. Hope your prep is going well too.
Will look out for you, best of luck. We should be so proud of what we have achieved. 10k next year?

10k in May (BUPA) and Royal Parks Half Marathon for the Railway Children in October.
wow, now those are proper targets. Cant imagine my legs moving for that long but I suppose its just a case of putting in the hours and not stopping
Off for a 5k run now, been putting it off all morning hoping the weather would improve but its not going to so just need to get on and do it.
See you Sunday. Have you done many of these before? Hoping my preparation is ok. Have a lunch afterwards with friends who are coming along to support me and I am already looking forward to a large glass of Pinot Grigio as abstaining all week in the hope of shedding a few more pounds before I don the lycra in front of a crowd. My usual audience is a couple of dog walkers who are so used to hearing my heaving breathing approach that they now just ignore me.
First one. I've run 5k about three times before, and ran 7k last week. I'm going to do a speed podcast this week, go to the gym, and run one mile before Sunday.
