I had a brilliant run this am. My 4 year old grand daughter was going to join me but didn't, " people are allowed to change their minds Jude " was what came out of her mouth ! so set off on my own leaving her with her beloved Grandman. I was glad she changed her mind actually as I had made up my mind to extend my run a bit and with Alice it would have been more of a walk to accommodate little legs. Took me a while to settle, around 20 minutes actually but then got into a kind of rhythm, at one point I saw a holiday maker snapping arcitecture and threatened to stop and kill him if he snapped me, off I go singing along to Freddie when I see a lone walker, so tempted to dance around him, give him a high five and continue but he looked less then friendly so he lost his chance ! Up the hill, cross the roundabout and on the home stretch, saw a young lady at the shop who said " you put me to shame " I was so chuffed, I wanted to say I RUN 5K but decided it sounded daft ! then the 5 minute cool down, checked the garmin, yeppa, just over 5k, brilliant, watch me go ! Came indoors and set up the garmin but it wouldnt connect so got Alices breakfast and we sat on patio chatting, then I went in to check the garmin again, wow ! I ran 6k ! me running 6k ! and I didnt even try, I was aiming for 5k ! Need a sweaty selfie to post of fb and a nice braggy message on how amazing I am and bask in the glow. Right that fixed, now to cook sons breakfast, ( you know the one he expects when he collects his daughter after a 2 night sleep over !! ) and to put his washing in the machine ( also expected as him and family are living in a caravan awaiting completion of house ) now time to tidy and put the garmin away, BUGGAR I hadn't turned it off, I didnt run 6k I ran 5k ! Can you believe that, talk about burst bubble, but the plus side is I have been laughing all day and I feel so good to be running and 5k doesnt disappoint me at all, BUT I will get that damn 6k, you see if I dont !! ( sorry for the mini novel, but had to share ! )
A well and truly burst bubble....... - Couch to 5K
A well and truly burst bubble.......
Oh Jude! Definitely got your mojo back then? Sounds like a brilliant run. Well done on that 5k - no rush to get to 6k just yet.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant and AWESOME run GJ! Look at you then! I wouldn't be bursting any bubbles over 5 vs 6 k! You just ran it... AND enjoyed it...
You'll get that 6K soon enough though... it's right around the block...
That's fantastic GJ!!! Your enthusiasm is infectious and your family must be proud. Whilst I am not keen on passers by.. I love meeting another runners on my runs and always high five them!! I am sure they must think I'm mad but I just want to let them know that they are great and I respect them out there doing the same thing! Keep it up and that 6k will sneak up on you when you are busy listening to Freddie!
You are amazing, 5k, 6k ? Who cares, either is a good run by any standards, plus all that other stuff !!
Go GJ! I was smiling away whilst reading your post! You ran 5K and had a fantastic time doing it - be proud! It sounds like you really enjoyed this run, well done! You will get your 6K soon!

Lol, love it. Pity about the 6k but 5k is a fantastic achievement and, like you, I'm sure you'll get to that 6k sooner rather than later :),
Hehe lovely post GJ, the ups and downs of being a runner hey! Loving the attitude from Alice as well, as she knows, it's a womans prerogative to change her mind.
Alice is ace, so wise, She has watched the mud run vid and has worked out all the bits she can " help" me with and those she thinks I shouldn't do !
Brilliant grannyjudes ,! Don't go rushing them distances , steady does it we don't want any injuries . Really well done you go girl !
