As I'm getting fitter, I'm running faster without really realising. This is good, but also makes things difficult. The second ten minute run was much harder than the first. I had to slow it right down to only just faster than walking pace. This was the hardest run yet, but only because I got the timing wrong. I realised that I used to run that slowly to start with and that it would help anyone struggling to slow it right down.
I run along a canal and I probably aim for the same point to turn around every time - again, unconciously. I see Herons, new ducklings, swans and cygnets, the odd water vole, and a brand new Waitrose dropped at the end of it, which is incidentally where I turn around. No access to Waitrose from the canal path - they've missed a trick there, though not sure how much shopping I could do in the walking breaks and not sure how much I could run home with.

I have a habit of starting off too fast, then have to slow right down to let my body catch up. I'm not sure I could do the running with a heavy back pack thing. I see them In the park sometimes, they always look very tired. Pity though because I like the idea of multi taking.
You take a very small back pack and just buy the barest essentials. I can now get to two supermarkets which I previously thought too far away. Good innit this running lark!
