Running with pushchair

I have just done W2 R1...I have been going out with my nearly 7 month old baby & ive got to say, running with a buggy is pretty tough!! My legs feel so stiff. I went out last week and did W1 R2&3 without my baby & I felt so free (in more ways than one!) it was so much easier....Is anyone else doing the C25K with the buggy?

I am:- when I chose to listen to the resounding choir that is my little devil. I used to take her in a sling but since my runs are getting longer (nearly an hour each time now), she is too big (nearly 2) to take out now that way. I have tried on and off to take her in the pushchair, but I am running on fields and tracks now so it's hard work taking a pushchair there. It's a heck of a lot eaiser running with my dog!

My OH runs, but mainly sticks to the local roads and only for 30 minutes each time, and he hasn't had any problems taking her out in her buggy. I think for anything up to 30 minutes, depending on your height, can be ok, but for longer runs, you may want to get one of the specialist running buggies to make it comfortable for you and your baby.

Best of luck xx

Wow Tanyag_163, I couldnt imagine running with a sling! You must be incredibly fit. That's brilliant. Yes I'm the same in regards to the terrain, I live remotely so it's all tracks & fields (not great for the pushchair!) - it may be an idea to invest in a more robust one as you suggest. That's great that you now conquer longer runs...hopefully one day I will also achieve this xx

I'm absolutely sure you will. I still have a lot of weight to lose, but running is definately 'me' time. In a way, using a buggy is great to help with upper body strength :-)

Fingers crossed :0) Ahh yes I can definitely relate to that. More 'me' time needed! Yes that's true, hadn't looked at it like that xx

My 2 are 8 and 9 so no buggies here! I watched my husband do a 10k the other week and there were quite a few buggies taking part. I take my hat off to anyone doing it with a buggy. I find it hard enough to move forward with just my own weight!!

Thanks Catkin69....that's good to know. Due to my partners work the c25k seems to be the only thing I can do with the baby & at times to suit me and the baby. Hopefully I can get one run a week on my own...which will be motivating & half an hr of me time!! Xx
