1km sprint prep & home made baton!!

...OK I think this photo will need some explaining.

When I started C25K in April 13 a lot of my friends took the mick and said that running isn't a real sport but they saw the positive effect it had on me and their opinion changed. I managed to convince one of them to start C25K but I had to motivate him to start. Knowing he is very competitive I challenged him to a 1km sprint when he graduated, where I would run the 1km and he would relay it with someone else and do 500m each. So to make sure they don't cheat I have these home made batons created out of copper pipes with duct tape at the ends. They have insisted that I run with a baton too! I am hoping for a 3:30 km which is very optimistic but I'm going to give it a good go. We are racing on Wednesday so I will let you guys know how it goes!

Oooh loving the batons......hope you have got Chariots of Fire ready to play at the end....plus some Olympic medals on standby. This is what makes it all so great, getting out there with your mates, getting fit and having fun. Good luck and happy running.
