Just popping in for a chat!

Hi all, Still here and contributing when I can. Lovely to see and read all the advice given by old and new members, so important and very appreciated!! Had the most wonderful run last night, 12k with the sun, wind and a little rain just when you need it the most! So grateful to feel fit enough (after ic) to go further and the scenic route really helps. Took the hubby for his first run on Saturday morning as we would like to start fell running together when we move. Thinking we would converse, I left my music at home. I should have realised that it would always be a race and competing. Anyway we all know the story of the hare and tortoise, after 2k his calves were sore, asking if he wanted to stop, pride kicks in and he manages a 5k. Fraser is 18 stone and has alway trained being a ex Commander (RN) he was heavy footed but did very well. Lovely to have him in my world and hoping this is the start of many more - whether he wants to or not!! He would go mental if he knew I posted this but I love it and proud of him x Happy running :)

  • Nice one Carole. Us ex forces are a bit heavy footed with the turning circle of a battleship. But we go on and on. :) hope he enjoys the next run with u :) J

  • Yep! You are a stoical lot!! and he was surprised how little CV it took. Happy to say we will be back out again when back! Hope your turning circle is no longer small and grey!

  • Lovely picture. I hope he finds a love of running and you get to go fell running together. Glad your off the IC, happy running.

  • Thanks RFC I hope so too!So funny, we ran past a couple of serious runners who said they were doing 25k. I put my thumbs up and Fraser tells them we are doing 40!! They were not that impressed when we had turned around to go back after 2.5k!! :)

  • What a lovely couple you make, enjoy your running together x

  • Thanks CurlyG for your kind words. In the picture above it is my daughter comparing her triceps!! I however would never try!! Happy running! x
