Week 1 smashed !

Week 1 confined to the history books. Run 1 was like a car crash , run two seemed worse and run three was ok after an adjustment of pace. Felt great after it , not too overheated. Chuffed !!!

On to week two !

Jakerook rocking and rolling! Well done for completing W1. That is one of the hardest weeks, believe me. Hard because it is all new and easy to give up without any commitment. Now W1 is over (and you've told us) it'll be easier.

How's the quitting smoking going? And how are you feeling about W2? Whilst the runs are longer - 90 seconds - there are only 6 of them. Result!

Cut down on them and eating healthier. 6 repititions sounds like a result ! The idea of getting thru all the weeks and running for almost half an hour is a scary one. Will the pace I run at pick up at some point?

There is nothing scary about C25k. It is about you taking control and you can do it. This programme really works. Run at a pace that you can sustain, if breathing is difficult, slow down. The aim is to run for 30 minutes and speed can come later.

One down, eight to go. Good luck.

What a cracking way of putting this running malarky, you have just eased my worries about the comming weeks with this one comment.

Thank you

Fantastic! It is often down to pace! It's one of the earliest lessons to learn! It's not about being fast but learning to run. Enjoy week 2 :-) believe the weeks pass quickly! Trust in the plan and yourself xx

Congratulations. Speed was my issue. I soon realised I wasn't completing a 100m sprint and just needed a slow steady jog to get by. Speed will be something I embrace once I finish the programme

Well done! As the others have said, trust the programme, and don't run too fast, it's totally about running for the duration, not speed/distance - you can play around with all that once you graduate. Its really not scary, the programme builds muscle strength and stamina (as well as confidence) in layers, week by week. The challenge will be overcoming your fear or perception at any given point. Remember how many (diverse) people have completed the programme, and you will too.

Good luck with week 2 :-)

Well done. Don't think too far ahead just to the next run. It is a good idea also to look at how far you have come too. The programme works just keep your pace slow and your times increasing as Laura tells you. You can do it!!!

Enjoy week 2
