Does it matter that I feel like I'm running slower than I can walk?

In a word, 'no' :) Use the c25k in a way that best suits you. Well done on completing w5 r2 :)

I still run slow and probably always will, matters not in the least ( though I did overtake a snail today;) )

Speed is not the issue... You can always work on that once later if you want to.

No it doesnt matter. I wont win any races with my speed. I can maintain a gentle jog whereas there is no way I could manage a 'run'. When you complete the programme you could always work on increasing speed then.

Well done on a how far you have come already

It matters nought how fast you go - you just need to "go". A gentle jog at a pace that keeps you moving for the time you need to run for the week you're on.. that's it! Finishing is what matters (and to be honest even if you don't finish, the trying matters more... next time you just go even slower - yep, slower if you need to)...

Sometimes you need to slow yourself down to avoid overuse and injury anyway - it's tempting to try to go as fast as you can as often as you can in the belief this somehow makes you "better" at running... I am learning (sometimes the hard way) that too hard, too fast and too soon can do more damage than good...

As a result of an over-eager 6K on Sunday I am finding walking stairs a somewhat painful process today! :) My answer? I'm actually going to set my next run up to be deliberately slow... I have a Garmin watch now that I can setup with a "virtual pacer" - this allows me to "chase a runner" to hit a specific time... I'm not going to use it that way though - I'm going to use it to slow me down by a good 1:30/km...

Stamina first - speed later!

Well done on your progress so far - the fact you feel amazing is great! You should be very proud - you're more than halfway through the programme and you've got (what I found to be anyway) the most life-changing run in R3 to come... you can do it - pace yourself and you'll be so amazed at yourself you may not quite believe it!

Have fun!

I power walk faster than I can jog. A friend and I regularly power-walk a 5k route and do it in 45 minutes (it includes 100 m steep incline) when I jog it (with two walk intervals) I do it in 50... can't seem to get it under. LOL. It doesn't matter about speed - you're out there running so you're lapping anyone sat on a couch (that's my reasoning).
