I've just completed run 2 of week 3 and am finding it ok but feel like I'm barely moving if that makes sense π How much ground is normal to cover in this period?
Feel like i'm going nowhere: I've just completed... - Couch to 5K
Feel like i'm going nowhere
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
There is no normal for ground covered on this forum with members from teens to eighties, of all weights, fitness levels, abilities and disabilities.
You are going further than you were before you started.
Stay slow........ that's fine.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Thank you. I know I'm making progress (couldn't manage one minute at first!) just worry as a beginner I guess. Thank you for the info!
Hi I understand ! I feel like I'm not going far but I do feel I'm pushing myself but not too much. Do you feel out of breath at times? X you're doing well!
Not that out or breath. Feel like I have very heavy legs! Definitely an improvement on each run I just feel extremely slow?
You're improving! That's fabulous! Give your body time to get into it a bit more, do what you can and keep going no matter how slow you feel you are. See how you feel in a few weeks! I'd love to hear how you are getting on π
Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.
Thank you. I definitely need to hydrate more in general so will see of this helps.
Hello, I barely move too, I think we are building stamina and strength and the speed comes once those two things are in place , you are putting in the groundwork now so the fancy moves are spectacular later in your journey
You're not running on the spot or going backwards? That's a good sign. π
π Thank you! Love this!
