Back ache
Yes I have. I believe it's due to poor core condition...
I started doing back strengthening exercises and planks...hope that helps...
Don;t do anything til your back has eased off.
I was doing strengthening exercises at home with Jillian Michaels DVD's which are very good. All sorts of moves are involved, including planks but you can do modified versions until you can build up to the full version. I've not got there yet. I dropped off doing the exercises as I was running more often. Big mistake! Now I'm in training for a 10 mile I should be doing more exercises for my core, abs, back and arms etc rather than less. I think swimming is a good body conditioning exercise Judes and that would be less of a strain. Yoga is very good for us runners and doing yoga stretches after a run is good. There are loads of clips on Youtube but I couldn't follow them on my tablet's small screen so I bought the DVD's
Pilates is also good for core strength and I would recommend the Darcey Bussell book and DVD - I use these myself. Hope the back heals soon - please don't put pressure on yourself or try to do any exercise until it is properly healed because you want to be fit for your R4L in July, that's the important thing. Good luck for a complete recovery and best wishes.
