Start steady, watch your breathing, keep your rythmn and if you have a watch that shows your pace, try to keep it below 5.6 minutes per km or 9 minutes per mile and you'll hit your 56 minute PB.
Sounds a blast. Is it tomorrow? I shall be sending Big Dan Positive Waves your way Juju so if you feel a mystical push behind you, it's my SuperDan Power Force urging you the finish line in 56 mins!
I'll second the virtual pacer on your Garmin (or similar), it did me in good stead when I went out for a parkrun PB last year, though actually reading 'on pace', 'behind pace' and 'ahead of pace' was well nigh impossible without my glasses until I figured out if there looked like there were 3 words rather than 2 I was doing OK! Having the Garmin do different beeps each time it tells you the pace would be a better idea, no squinting necessary then.
My work colleague's doing it too - he said he hadn't trained much but was hoping to get under 50'!!! Honestly!!!
Are there real live pacers in the race? Otherwise I like the idea of the beeping Garmin keeping your pace so you don't have to try and read it while running.
Yep, I'm gonna be there! But *won't be anticipating a sub 60..! To be honest, if I get round in under 65mins, I'll be pleased - 62/63 and I'll be delighted! PB is 61:18.
I'm just hoping the wind eases up a bit, I've already been blown around Gloucester today!
Can't offer much advice I'm afraid as I just deal with running most of the time. I wish you all the luck though, have fun.
We're all behind you JuJu and so will the rest of the runners tomorrow.
Just get out there, with speed Laura will keep you on the pace. Hit repeat as soon as the last fast run ends and you'll have the 5 minute steady run to recover, then off again.
You will do it because I know you're so determined.
