Got myself all psyched up to go for gait analysis this afternoon to sort out my ancient knees but said ancient knees felt too sore, so stayed at home and drank tea instead. Oh the irony! All I can say is go out and buy shares in ibuprofen because I'm gonna be using a shed load before I graduate. ; )
You couldn't make it up!!!: Got myself all... - Couch to 5K
You couldn't make it up!!!
Damn those knees!! You'll get there though don't worry - you & your knees
Your poor knees. Hope they start to feel better soon.
Oh dear! Ibuprofen is a close friend of mine, too
Nooooooooo ...... I hope you're knees behave & you're back out there asap xxxxx
Feeling much better this morning m'dear, but I've resisted the temptation to get out there and start w8. Gait analysis here I come. Good luck with your w8 Lisa. Unless you're planning on waiting until Sunday to start, you're going to be a day ahead of me again. Let me know how it goes xxx
How spooky .... I've just got back in, stretched & chilling with a large glass of juice!!! It went ok!!!!... Well I'm still alive!!!! It takes me about 10 mins not 5 to settle into a pace, then off I plod! My knees & hips were a little achey but not uncomfortable! Good luck tomorrow & keep me posted..... We're almost there!!!!! Xx
I know the feeling. I have been having problems with my knees. Did w7 run 1 in my old trainers. Got back my knees were painful. Gave it a rest for a week. Tried different trainers and a short run. Much better. Did run 2 couple of days later with the different trainers and a knee support. Great. Next day felt really good, but son who is very over weight wanted to give the the c25k a go so I thought, it's only wk 1 run 1, I will be fine to do it. I watched him disappear into the distance with me struggling to keep up. I couldn't complete wk 1 run 1! Knees too painful. Definitely need to go for gait analysis.
Hi Keepitup, bad news about your knees. They're a right pain, literally and metaphorically aren't they? I seem to need 2days rest between runs to recover at the moment, so I'm pretty certain that, like you, I couldn't have managed even w1r1 the day after a w7 run. Hoping to get gait analysis today. I'll let you know if it's the magic cure I'm hoping for x
Good luck with your gait analysis - it's well worth it in my experience. Two days rest between runs is not such a bad thing and especially if it works for you. I often find an extra bit of rest pays dividends in the long term. Good luck and best wishes.
Oh comfy shoes do wonders. It really does make a difference. Hope your knees are feeling better soon.
